Laura Giannone, Executive Director
As a former state titleholder, Laura took all of the positive aspects of her pageant experiences and embarked on a 30-year fashion and modeling career. Upon graduating from The Lucille Clayton School in London and earning her BA in Journalism and Broadcasting from Central Michigan University, Laura came to New York with a modeling contract, a result of her participation in the “Model of The Year” pageant in 1974. Laura traveled extensively throughout Europe as well as the U.S., working the runway for fashion designers Oleg Cassini, Sadler, and Perissi as well as appearing in numerous national commercial campaigns and print ads. Laura is an actress and model living in Westchester. She feels the camaraderie, joy and drive she derived from her pageant experiences helped to propel her long-lived career and she is looking forward to passing on that passion to the Miss Westchester Pageants and Miss Hudson Valley Pageants contestants.
Dee van Eyck, Executive Director
As a former America’s Junior Miss local titleholder, Dee took the many skills she had learned through pageantry and applied them first, to her acting career and then later, to her special events management and production projects. After studying Theatre Arts at Stephens College, Dee came to New York and played leading roles on television, in commercials and Off-Broadway. As a graduate of The George Washington University Business School’s Event Management Program, she has organized, designed and produced events and fundraisers for many Westchester companies and non-profits. Dee believes that pageant participation presents a wonderful opportunity for young women to gain self-confidence, to develop their public speaking technique, and to acquire additional life skills while making new friends and having a great time!
